In 1998, at the age of 31, Gordon set up his first wholly owned restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, in Chelsea. Combining an intimate ambience with exquisite French cuisine. By 2001 the restaurant had gained three Michelin stars, which the establishment retains today.
In 2007, Clare Smyth MBE, was appointed to the position of Chef Patron, becoming the only female chef in the UK to hold a three Michelin star accolade.
In 2015, Matt Abé was appointed Chef de Cuisine to lead the team. In 2020, he was promoted to co-Chef Patron. Matt upholds the history and prestige of the restaurant by maintaining the constant pursuit of perfection.
